Thenextmemorablemomentofmyyesterdaywasmeetinganoldfriend.Ithadbeenafewyearssincewehadseeneachother,sowedecidedtograbacupofcoffeeandcatchup.Wespenthourstalkingabouteverything,fromourfamiliestoourcareers.Itwasamazingtoseehowmuchhadchangedineachother'slives,butatthesametime,itfeltlikenotimehadpassed.Itwasagreatreminderofhowimportantfriendshipsareandhowtheycanwithstandthetestoftime.

Asthedaywaswindingdown,Iwaswalkingbackhomewhensomethingunexpectedhappened.Awomanonthestreetdroppedabagofgroceries,andallheritemsscatteredacrossthepavement.Withouthesitation,Iranovertoherandhelpedherpickeverythingup.Itwasasmallgesture,butthelookofgratitudeonherfacemademerealizehowmuchitcanmeantosomeone.Iwalkedawayfeelingproudofmyselfforhelpingastrangerandthankfulforallthegoodpeopleintheworld.
