TheimpactofBolshevismwasfar-reachingandlong-lasting.Ontheonehand,itledtotheestablishmentoftheSovietUnionasaglobalsuperpower.TheSovietUnionbecamealeadingforceintheworldofpoliticsandeconomics,anditssocialistideologyspreadthroughouttheworld.BolshevismalsoledtosignificantsocialandeconomicchangeswithintheSovietUnion.Landwasredistributed,andindustrieswerenationalized,leadingtogreaterequalityandbetterlivingconditionsformanySovietcitizens.Ontheotherhand,Bolshevismalsohadanumberofnegativeimpacts.Theone-partystateledtoalackofpoliticalfreedom,withdissentingvoicesbeingsilencedordirectlypersecuted.TheSovieteconomystruggledtokeepupwiththedemandsofarapidlychangingworld,andthecountrybecameincreasinglyisolatedfromtherestoftheworldasaresultofColdWartensions.Bolshevismalsocontributedtoauthoritarianism,withleadersbecomingincreasinglydictatorialandwillingtouseforcetomaintaintheirgriponpower.TheLegacyofBolshevism
Today,BolshevismismostlyassociatedwiththeSovietUnionandthecommunistregimesthatexistedthroughoutthe20thcentury.WhiletheSovietUnionnolongerexists,thelegacyofBolshevismremains.Theideologycontinuestoinfluencepoliticalandeconomicsystemsaroundtheworld,anditsimpactisstillfeltinmanypartsoftheworld.Despiteitsflaws,Bolshevismremainsanimportantpartofhistoryandanexampleofthepowerofideologytoshapesocieties.
